$45M award will help fund 1,180 affordable homes, including 40-story towers in San Diego

California has awarded $45 million to San Diego for the construction of 1,180 affordable homes. This grant will be used for two projects, one in downtown San Diego with 1,007 total units and the other in San Ysidro with 586 total units. Both projects will have hundreds of affordable housing units for tenants ranging from 0 to 120% of the city's Area Median Income. The downtown project will have two 40-story towers, while the San Ysidro project will have three sites.
