Fed Raises Key Rate to 3.75%-4%

The Federal Reserve has just increased its key rate by 0.25%, bringing it to a range of 3.75%–4%. This is the first rate hike we’ve seen since July 2023, and officials have indicated the possibility of another adjustment later this year, as inflation continues to outpace their 2% target. The next Fed meeting is scheduled for October 27–28, 2026, where economic conditions will be reassessed.

As someone who closely tracks the San Diego real estate market, I recognize how each rate change can shape the local landscape for buyers, sellers, and investors alike. These moves have a direct influence on affordability and mortgage options, and understanding their impact is key to making the right move. My goal is always to help clients navigate these complexities with confidence—whether you’re considering your next home, an investment property, or simply want to stay informed about how broader economic shifts could affect our San Diego neighborhoods. Solid relationships, creative strategies, and deep local expertise are essential in times of change, and I’m committed to guiding you every step of the way.
