Report: San Diego is the nation’s most expensive city to live in

San Diego has recently been ranked the most expensive city to live in the United States by U.S. News and World Report. The report examined metrics such as median gross rent, annual housing costs, inflation rate, cost of gas, and other costs associated with living in the city. Seven of the top ten cities in the report are located in California. The report found that living in San Diego is not particularly affordable and home prices are considerably higher than the national median sale price. The report referred to this as the "sunshine tax," or the price of enjoying a year-round temperate climate.
